Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.

The Unscheduled Maintenance Team (UMT) Maintenance Engineer will travel to customers’ aircraft to perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspection, modification, and services of customers’ aircraft. Performs and documents all work completed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required. Working conditions include considerable travel, which may include international and extended assignments, with frequent face to face contact with customers. Additional work on drop-ins and planned maintenance within the facility during slow periods of unplanned maintenance may be required.

In your role, you will:

- Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft

- Perform and document all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required

- Train, coach and support other employees

- Perform complete engine runs as required

- Perform complex repairs on aircraft systems

- Supervise Mechanics when carrying out maintenance tasks, and determine that relevant tasks or inspections have been carried out to the required standard

- Release line maintenance tasks that are performed by him-/herself or under his supervision for which he/she is trained and authorized

- Perform maintenance at off-site locations

- Assist when providing time & cost estimates

- Respond to customer queries & requests

- Use own initiative to resolve difficult situations


As our ideal candidate for a B1/B2 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician,

• You typically have additional civil maintenance work experience

• You have demonstrated ability to train other employees

• You have Part-147 approved type training

• You hold a relevant Bombardier Business Jet Type (Challenger 300's, Challenger 600's or Global) – preferred

• You are engine run qualified

• You have a UK CAA & EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License: B1, B2 and C

• You have basic knowledge requirements of Appendix I to Part-66

• You have basic knowledge of Part-M, Part-145 and any other relevant regulations

• You have at least 6 months of relevant aircraft or component maintenance experience in any consecutive 2-year period

• You have experience working with our aircrafts, but will consider other Business Aircraft makes as well

• You have knowledge on, and practicing of, human factors, human performance and limitations

• You have knowledge on EWIS and CDCCL when relevant

• You have experience working during last two years on at least one aircraft type for each license (sub)category

• You are current on all training requirements (recurrent/continuation training)

• You have the ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings

• You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual task and / or aircraft status

• You have the ability to use standard tools, special tools and operate ground support equipment

• You have the ability to work in accordance with the maintenance data and to notify the function responsible of defects or mistakes requiring rectification to re-establish required maintenance standards

• You have the ability to use information systems (computer skills)

• You have experience on business jet aircraft
