What are your contributions to the team?

Bombardier is seeking a professional with a background in engineering and acoustics to support company-wide initiatives related to community noise across Bombardier’s product line.

 

In this role, you will be expected to:

 

  • Collaborate with the community noise team for engineering-related analysis, testing and documentation of Bombardier products community noise. In your role, you will be involved in:
    • Developing and maintaining numerical methods, tools and models (analytical, CFD/CAA) for predicting aircraft community noise of legacy and conceptual aircraft,
    • Providing simulations, including airframe noise, operational noise, and analysis supporting specific impact studies on legacy and conceptual aircraft,
    • Participating in and providing background information for airworthiness and other rule making meetings.
    • Participating in defining test requirements and procedures for community noise tests.
    • Participating in community noise tests, analysis and report preparation.
    • Participating in research & technology activities targeting community noise levels reduction on future aircraft
  • If you show high proficiency in the field of aircraft community noise, you will have the opportunity to pursue becoming a Design Approval Designee
  • As a member of the Acoustics & Vibration team you will also support and conduct engineering activities targeting cabin noise or aircraft vibration.

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, complemented by a master’s or Ph.D. in acoustics.
  • You ideally have 2 to 5 years of relevant technical experience in the industry.
  • You possess general knowledge in acoustics and vibrations, including modeling, measurement techniques, and signal processing.
  • Ideally, you have more advanced expertise in one of the following two areas: CFD/CAA methods (applied to aircraft components) or aeroacoustics measurements in wind tunnel.
  • You are recognized for fostering a healthy, ethical, and respectful work environment while promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan your work according to long-term objectives and short-term priorities, and to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to your audience and convey your messages confidently.
  • You have a curious, critical, and innovative mindset that enables you to develop your knowledge and skills and be a source of new ideas.
  • You are fluent in English; French is an asset.

 

 

 

The base salary for this position is expected to range from CAD $91,500 to CAD $110,000 per year. The applicable base salary will be determined based on various criteria, at Bombardier’s sole discretion, such as the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.

 

In some cases, the base salary offered may differ from the expected range of base salary listed above.​
