What are your contributions to the team?
- Lead and coordinate A/C level and/or Aerostructures design solutions for systemic Production and in service complex repeat issues.
- Support Structures Design Talent Technical Development through Coaching and mentoring Aerostructures design specialists during the resolution of complex technical issues.
- Support and technically lead Aerostructures Design Teams during the development of Derivative and Clean sheet Aircraft development programs through active participation in all development phases.
- Influence ASIL Knowledge Domain mid and long-term vision; actively participate in change and/or creation of BM Standards.
- Propose and lead the implementation of technical innovations based on knowledge of industry trends through Advanced Design and Strategic Technology.
- Recommend Unit Cost Reduction and new cost-effective engineering solutions through Knowledge Domains and Programs.
- Support new development A/C level architecture and functional modeling through active participation in Technical Peer reviews.
- Collect and disposition Lessons Learned; Share with KD community across all programs.
- Participate and support in Commodity Strategy reviews with Sourcing during cost reduction Initiatives and Make/Buy Trade Studies initiatives.
Technical Competency - Champion Design for Manufacturing technical solutions to align all stake holders and lead to first time right production line implementation.
- Lead the resolution of complex multi stakeholder repeat issues on aircraft and aerostructure production lines and ensure lessons learned are considered for introduction into BES standards.
- Lead resolution of major Manufacturing issues including Major RNC’s, Major Non-Disclosure.
- Enforce adherence to BES (Bombardier Engineering System) practices and Knowledge Standards to promote product line integrity and consistency. Candidate may perform BES Champion role.
- Research technical developments in the industry to remain aware of innovations that may affect and improve current performance enabling leadership in a competitive landscape.
- Develop cost estimates for business cases and statements of work for technical feasibility studies and initiatives.
- Share Industry and Regulatory Development with ASIL Knowledge Domain.
- Perform Aircraft level trade studies and functional modeling.
- Provide technical guidance to Programs and CARB. Work with the Safety team to support Aircrat Level Safety, Reliability and Security processes.
- Support multi-disciplinary alignment for Triage, CARB and AOG issues when necessary.
- Work with Management on PCR process, cycle times, optimizing solutions.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering. May have a PHD related directly to a field of expertise.
- You have 20 years or more of relevant experience in Aerostructures Design.
- You have deep experience supporting production lines across multiple Bombardier programs including MRB, Root Cause Investigations, process optimization, tooling, GD&T.
- You have advanced experience in Aircraft Structures Design and Integration on at least 2 or more development programs, expert in one or more areas.
The base salary for this position is expected to range from CAD $130,000 to CAD $180,000 per year. The applicable base salary will be determined based on various criteria, at Bombardier’s sole discretion, such as the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.
In some cases, the base salary offered may differ from the expected range of base salary listed above.
