The role of the Director, Operational Excellence is to lead and engage cross functional teams in the deployment of our company wide initiative called Operational Excellence.

In your role, you will:

- Develop and deploy transformational plans and a management approach that take the Objectives and Strategies of the OE model and support the implementation of it companywide.

- Lead the change activity throughout the organization with the responsibility to diagnose, design and develop improvement plans, design, develop and deliver training material, and finally, to coach and mentor the Bombardier Operational Excellence (BOE) system to ensure knowledge transfer and adherence to the standard.
- Develop strategies and solutions to support the deployment of our Company wide Initiative including technical elements, management tools and practices and leadership skills.
- Design solutions involving key stakeholders and the facilitation of solutions utilizing the application of Lean manufacturing concepts to build lasting cultural change and deep understanding of continuous improvement.
- Develop training strategies and solutions along with organizational stakeholders that will increase the knowledge base of the organization around performance management, delivering value to our customers and eliminating waste.
- Instill a culture of standardization and execution through effective use of process, aligned KPIs and infrastructure.


As our ideal candidate,

- You have a degree / diploma in an engineering discipline or business management.

- You are a recognized leader with managerial level experience.

- You have 5-10 years of Lean experience in the area of process improvement and/or Lean deployment.

- You have proven capability in the application of continuous improvement concepts.

- You have capability in leading change as demonstrated by experience and results.

- You are an expert facilitator with a high amount of influencing skill.

- You are fluent in IT systems and have a desire to support the development of IT based solutions.

- You are bilingual (an asset)

- You have a high degree of interpersonal skills to perform the duties of the Director. The individual must develop a strong network of collaborators and build profound relationships throughout the organization. to ensure a strong cultural shift towards performance management and Operational Excellence.

- You must be able to establish connections with the greater communities of operational excellence leaders that will share best practices and build industry wide energy and momentum.

- You are a strong collaborator and a company interface with consultants as this may be an element of support for tools, training and coaching.

- You can influence change with Leadership, Managers, Line managers, Lead hands and employee teams as well as the senior team.

- You are highly creative in the area and application of Lean concepts, tools and able to adapt them to the ‘unique’ sectors of our business.
