Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.
 

Position Summary:

As a Night Shift Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance checks across multiple Bays. As the Lead, you must understand the priorities and resource aircraft appropriately, foreseeing and solving any problems or requirements as well as supervising relevant personnel on the input.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Leading teams of technicians and mechanics to deliver aircraft maintenance activities safely, efficiently and on schedule.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are always prioritised and that no unsafe conditions are overlooked.  
  • Driving a strong safety culture by promoting hazard awareness, conducting risk assessments and maintaining high housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, company procedures and airworthiness standards.
  • Supporting Maintenance Team Leads with coaching, performance management, employee development and engagement activities.
  • Managing aircraft maintenance inputs to achieve agreed delivery targets and return-to-service milestones.
  • Monitoring productivity, labour performance and cost control while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Participating in daily operational reviews and providing accurate updates on aircraft status, manpower and resource requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce downtime and improve workplace standards.

  • Holds a current and relevant B1 and/or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
  • Ideally holds approvals on multiple Bombardier aircraft types and has, or is working towards, C Certification privileges.
  • Holds Engine Run and Taxi approvals on relevant Bombardier aircraft types.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of aviation regulations, airworthiness requirements, safety management and aircraft maintenance best practices.
