Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, you will be involved with total system designs including the integration and design of communication subsystems that connect to the network(s). You will propose, design and commission networks including radio systems utilizing WiFi mobility in a high-speed environment for train to wayside communications. You will also entail design and commissioning of communication systems such as CCTV, Video Analytics, Passenger Audio and Video Information, dynamic signs, VoIP Telephony, SCADA, gunshot detection, control layouts.The position includes designing large fiber layouts in a multi-ring configuration where every fiber connection is tracked in detail.

In your role you will:

- Design and commission network systems for projects worldwide;
- Design communication systems using off the shelf components based on customer requirements. This includes all aspects of the design of communications subsystems, including the work of other Engineers and Technologists;
- Oversee technical deliverables to ensure schedule and quality of work are maintained. This includes installation design, software configuration management, RAMS, maintenance procedures and instructions, safety and quality plans and procedures;
- Prepare test procedures and support Product Introduction to demonstrate compliance of installed communications systems;
- Prepare estimates to complete work tasks;
- Monitor engineering progress against budget throughout project duration;
- Ensure project staff addresses proper physical interface with the civil and electrical works through specification of requirements and proper follow with QA and the Civil and Electrical Contractors to ensure installation provisions are built correctly.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or Telecommunications;
- You have four (4) years of experience in a the design, testing, commissioning of various network systems;
- You have two or more Cisco Network Certifications;
- You possess experience in designing MPLS networks;
- You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
