Rail Control Solutions (RCS) is Bombardier Transportation’s signaling division. RCS is focused on optimizing the flow of trains and delivering innovative signaling systems which enable the safe and efficient operation of rail networks and trains

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, the Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing project quality plans and ensuring project quality standards are aligned with customer requirements, quality assurance plans and Bombardier governing processes. The Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer will conduct audits and lead project quality reviews.

In your role you will:

- Develop the Quality Assurance Plan for RCS Projects and communicate the Project Quality Plan to quality representatives of partners and suppliers;

- Work on the project site to oversee all active work. Collect daily logs of quality control activities, organize them and submit a combined report;

- Conduct project audits to monitor compliance with customer contract specifications and quality requirements;

- Assure the delivery of all Quality deliverables at the project gates, according to the agreed acceptance criteria;

- Reject and if necessary block any non-conforming deliverable from being released which could result in safety or quality related problems;

- Work as part of project team(s), communicate quality requirements to project manager and project team members and monitor their implementation;

- Manage the quality planning, quality reviews, quality performance and quality records of contracts and coordinate all project quality related activities;

- Review and sign off on project documents (plans, analyses, designs, requirements, procedures, reports and other documents);

- Review customer specifications and define quality requirements for project execution;

- Review and ensure compliance to quality requirements and sign off on project documents (plans, analyses, designs, requirements, procedures, reports and other documents);

- Create and maintain Quality Management Reports which are mandatory inputs to Safety Cases;

- Supports Project Manager in ensuring that the customer’s or other quality requirements are fulfilled;

- Supports project during external audits by customer, BT Group and/or third party auditors.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline; a Master's Degree will be considered a plus;

- You possess at least five (5) years of experience in a quality assurance role;

- You demonstrate experience working in a quality-focused industry such as transportation, nuclear, manufacturing, aerospace, etc;
- You demonstrate experience in quality assurance on software and hardware engineering life cycles;

- An ISO 9000 certification is preferred; knowledge and experience with IRIS will be considered an asset;

- You demonstrate the ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- You possess critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;

- You adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;

- Your English communication skills are excellent.
