In your role, you will

  • Adhere to General Work Requirements
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures
  • Research and respond to questions from employees and managers regarding Human Resource programs, policies and procedures; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within department and all employees
  • Conduct investigations regarding claims of harassment and other related issues
  • Provide coaching, counsel and advice on HR/people related issues for staff and line management, up to Director level
  • Initiate and manage core HR projects including but not limited to recruitment, employee development, staff relations, Co-Op Programs, and orientation 
  • Provide support for PMP implementation, including training, coaching, and documentation 
  • Make recommendations up to manager level for compensation related items including salary offers, merit increases to ensure alignment with market, internal salary structure and equity practices 
  • Demonstrate proactive management of employee and labor relations to minimize grievances and/or to settle at earliest stage of grievance procedure
  • Participate fully as part of business unit leadership team 
  • Maintain knowledge of business unit’s operations and its strategic role within the organization 
  • Coach, consult and collaborate with clients to help them meet their business and human capital objectives
  • Assist the business to achieve its objectives by identifying human resources and organizational development issues, and by leading the analysis and diagnosis of client needs 
  • Design, develop and deliver tailored HR solutions specific to business unit needs

  • Use behavioral interviewing techniques to assist management in selecting the right resources with the right skills, values and leadership attributes
  • Provide coaching and consultative support to management on leadership development, talent and performance management, change and people management issues 
  • Ensure management balances the human side with the business and global vision by playing an employee advocate role 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices to influence Corporate HR strategies, policies and procedures 
  • Manage and process transactions not handled by the Employee Service Center, and broker specialist HR services to the business unit 
  • Measure HR service level and quality to ensure HR is adding value to business unit; Identify external business and market trends, anticipating external influence and adjusting HR strategies accordingly 
  • Obtain first-hand customer information and using it for improvements in products and services acts with customer in mind
  • Develop and facilitate organizational effectiveness training for employees at all levels 
  • Manage and analyze the process of recruiting and selecting qualified job candidates in a timely and cost-efficient manner for all personnel; ensures all recruiting practices are in compliance with applicable laws and company policy
  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies with hiring managers to include interview teams, job postings, external advertising, and act as liaison with sourcing agencies
  • Actively participate in Recruitment and Retention teams
  • Develop and maintain orientation presentation. Ensure all necessary forms are completed and returned; ensure that hiring managers are informed of their orientation responsibilities
  • Conduct exit interviews for departing personnel and analyze data for retention trends 
  • Maintain daily/weekly contact with Payroll regarding payroll corrections, time off reports, and any other items that need to be addressed.  Maintain records of time-off requests and changes to be sent to Payroll

As our ideal candidate

  • You have 3+ years professional and progressive experience with Bachelor’s degree in related field, OR 5+ years professional and progressive experience in related field
  • You have recruiting, hiring, and interviewing experience
  • You have employee and/or Labor Relations experience
  • You have working knowledge of Employment Law
  • You have computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications
  • You have interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, management, and contractors
  • Coordinate all immigration requirements with IMM and employee
