What are your contributions to the team?

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Take ownership of technical problem-solving using structured methodologies and best practices (e.g., root cause analysis, Lean tools, Six Sigma principles).
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities to optimize production efficiency.

Process Development & Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain work instructions, assembly manuals, and technique sheets to support manufacturing.
  • Develop and document best practices for incorporating engineering changes into production.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, logistics, quality, and production teams to align on problem definition and work to identify Root Cause and Corrective Action
  • Participate in design reviews and assess the impact of engineering changes.

Tooling & Resource Planning

  • Define and request tooling, jigs, fixtures, and consumables required for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Estimate labor hours, tooling build times, and assembly times for new projects and modifications.

Data Analysis & Feasibility

  • Analyze engineering models and manufacturing plans to ensure feasibility and compliance with geometric tolerances.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and make/buy decisions through accurate estimates and analysis.

How to thrive in this role?

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and visualize 3D models; proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA, Enovia, NX).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel expertise required).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a logical and innovative mindset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to synthesize technical information clearly.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or related fields is an asset.
