Key Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and procedural compliance with safety as the top priority.
  • Ensure efficient workflow, optimal manpower utilization, and effective allocation of resources to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Oversee maintenance activities on aircraft, engines, avionics, and components in compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards (EASA, FAA, CAAS, and other applicable authorities).
  • Promote and support Workplace Health, Safety, Environmental programs, and Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives.
  • Review safety trends, audit findings, and corrective action requests; implement corrective and preventive actions to address operational risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide operational inputs for tenders, projects, budgeting, and project acceptance decisions.
  • Develop annual departmental budgets, workforce plans, and resource forecasts.
  • Provide technical estimates, labor hours, and material requirements to support customer quotations and project planning.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with customers, addressing operational concerns, project status, and invoice-related matters.
  • Lead and manage maintenance teams, including recruitment, performance management, employee development, workforce planning, attendance monitoring, and disciplinary processes.
  • Identify training requirements and support workforce competency, certification, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between Operations, Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Production Control to ensure project timelines and customer commitments are achieved.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers, Maintenance Supervisors, and Aircraft Coordinators to meet budget, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Lead daily production meetings, project briefings, and performance reviews to drive operational efficiency.
  • Ensure availability of parts, materials, tooling, and equipment to support maintenance schedules and operational requirements.
  • Review and approve Defect Approval Forms (DAFs), work packages, and maintenance documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure accurate recording of maintenance work for timely customer billing and warranty claim support.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the department at recruitment events and build partnerships with educational institutions, military organizations, and industry stakeholders.Act on behalf of the Director, Operations when required.

As our ideal candidate, 

  • Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in aircraft heavy maintenance and/or line maintenance.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience within aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of EASA, FAA, CAAS, and other applicable aviation regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and drive operational performance.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in workforce development, recruitment, coaching, and performance management.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to interpret financial reports, manage budgets, and achieve operational objectives.
