CONTRACTOR - Technical Expert, Engineering - Structures Design Integrator
Role purpose
As a Technical Expert, Engineering - Structures Design Integrator, you will act as a technical authority, shape design strategy, and lead enterprise-level technical alignment and capability development.
Your work will focus on aircraft structural design, from configuration and concept development through detailed definition, production support, certification support, and in-service changes.

Responsabilités principales
Conception et définition structurales
- Développer et réviser les concepts structuraux, modèles 3D, assemblages, dessins d’installation et dessins de détail pour les zones assignées de l’aéronef.
- Définir les pièces métalliques et composites, les joints, les interfaces, les concepts de fixation, les tolérances et les provisions selon les exigences de conception applicables.
- Appliquer de bonnes pratiques de conception relativement aux chemins de charge, à la fabricabilité, à l’assemblage, à l’inspection, à la maintenabilité, à la masse et aux coûts.
Intégration technique et collaboration
- Coordonner la définition structurale avec les équipes de charges et contraintes, matériaux et procédés, installation de systèmes, aérodynamique, intérieurs, fabrication, qualité et autres disciplines concernées.
- Résoudre les conflits géométriques et d’interfaces physiques et soutenir les études de compromis techniques.
- Participer aux revues de conception et communiquer clairement l’intention de conception, les hypothèses, les contraintes et les points ouverts.
Maturité, conformité et soutien
- Soutenir les activités de justification et de certification en fournissant une définition de conception complète et traçable ainsi qu’une justification technique.
- Soutenir les investigations en production, chez les fournisseurs et en service, incluant l’analyse des causes fondamentales et les mesures correctives de conception.
- Gérer les changements de conception et maintenir les données de configuration et de définition du produit dans l’environnement PLM applicable.
Contribution propre au niveau
- Agir comme autorité technique de la discipline pour les enjeux d’intégration les plus complexes ou a fort impact.
- Orienter l’architecture et la stratégie de conception, résoudre les risques techniques transversaux et fournir des recommandations faisant autorité à la direction.
- Développer les capacités organisationnelles par la gouvernance, les normes, le mentorat, le transfert des connaissances et l’alignement technique externe.
How to thrive in this role?
Education & experience
- Bachelor degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline, as appropriate to the role.
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or a related industry.
Technical knowledge
- Aircraft structural configuration and detailed design
- Metallic and composite design principles, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and GD&T
- Engineering drawings, 3D definition, producibility, assembly, and inspection considerations
- Aerospace materials, processes, design standards, certification fundamentals, and configuration control
Tools & methods
- CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and MS Office; knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
- Working knowledge of PLM, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management processes appropriate to the level.
Leadership & behavioural capabilities
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative approach with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Sound judgement, analytical problem-solving, organization, and accountability.
- Ability to coordinate priorities and provide constructive technical guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and mentor others.
Languages
- Fluent in English (mandatory).
- French is an asset.
