Short Description

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Shop Floor Support Technician to provide front-line IT support within our production environment. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripherals directly on the shop floor. The successful candidate will ensure maximum uptime for production-critical systems, scanners, printers, and workstations, working closely with production operators and engineering teams.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Production Support: Act as the first point of contact for IT issues on the shop floor, responding immediately to downtime incidents to minimize operational impact.
  • Hardware & Peripheral Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial PCs, rugged tablets, printers, barcode scanners, and label printers (e.g., Zebra).
  • System Deployment: Configure, test, and deploy new workstations, software updates, and network equipment in a production environment.
  • Network & Connectivity: Troubleshoot connectivity issues (LAN/Wi-Fi) related to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and PLC interface computers.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets on the factory floor.

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have 5+ years of experience in desktop support, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • You have strong knowledge of Windows and Active Directory.
  • You are proficient in hardware troubleshooting (PCB repair or component-level experience is a plus).
  • You have experience with peripherals: Barcode scanners, label printers, and touchscreen interfaces.
  • You have an uderstanding of basic network troubleshooting (IP addresses, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
  • You are able to communicate technical information to non-technical operators.
  • You possess strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in French and English.
