During your internship, you will contribute to:

  • Support test activities on system, structural and dynamic test rigs for Bombardier aircraft programs.
  • Perform preparatory test activities such as writing Experimental Test Cards based on Test Definition Sheets provided by the various aircraft system groups across the organization.
  • Set up and maintain Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), and create real-time data displays for the Test Engineers to monitor the parameters of interest during test.
  • Post-process and archive data produced by the rigs and ensure its quality is in line with the expectations of our internal customers.
  • Write special instructions as required by the Test Definition Sheets to ensure the appropriate rig configuration is set up for the test and prepare all documentation the Test group requires to execute the tests.
  • Participate in Test Readiness Reviews with the various aircraft system groups to ensure all preparatory work is completed prior to test.
  • Perform in-flight cabin noise surveys on production aircraft and generate reports for the Acoustics department.

During your internship, you will:

  • Learn how to use test equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Develop general knowledge of aircraft systems and structures.
  • Develop teamwork and communication skills.
  • Enhance your report writing skills.
  • Accomplish important testing milestones for Bombardier.

What we are looking for:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • You are proficient with Excel macros and Visual Basic programming.
  • You are a strong team player and demonstrate superior organizational skills.
  • You are driven by results, autonomous and rigorous.
  • You demonstrate initiative in improving tools and processes.
  • You possess good project management skills.
  • You are flexible to work outside regular hours if needed.
  • You have strong communication skills (oral and written).

 

Boarding Information:

  • Location: Plant 1 – 1800 Boul. Marcel-Laurin, Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec
  • Duration: 4 or 8 months
  • Work is mainly on-site but some remote work is possible

 

All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
