What are your contributions to the team?

Our team researches, develops, implements, and supports innovative technologies aimed at improving the manufacturing methods and processes used at the St-Laurent Manufacturing Center to reduce production costs, shorten cycle times, eliminate non-conformities, and eliminate all sources of waste. 

In your role, you will be expected to: 

  • Lead optimization projects for manufacturing processes, including machining and trimming of metallic and composite parts. 
  • Develop and analyze test plans, synthesize results, and provide actionable insights. 
  • Act as a technical expert, supporting daily production activities and conducting reliability and feasibility studies. 
  • Research and implement cutting-edge technologies and solutions to enhance production efficiency. 
  • Participate in R&D projects focused on metal machining and composite material trimming/drilling. 
  • Serve as the technical focal point for multidisciplinary teams during machine fleet upgrades (acquisition or retrofit). 
  • Plan, monitor, and manage projects, ensuring operational control and timely delivery. 
  • Prepare technical documentation across all project phases (RFI, TRD, acceptance test plans, reports, etc.). 
  • Act as a technical expert in equipment acquisition, making strategic technical recommendations. 
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives to address key challenges and drive continuous improvement. 

How to thrive in this role?

As the ideal candidate, you: 

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, automated production engineering, or industrial engineering. People holding other professional qualifications will be considered, e.g. DEC. 
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in aerospace manufacturing processes (an asset) or otherwise in a complex manufacturing environment. 
  • Possess a solid understanding of basic principles of material mechanics and manufacturing processes such as machining, drilling, and trimming. 
  • Are proficient with Catia V5 (Design), Catia V5 (Advanced Machining), Vericut - knowledge of Siemens NX would be considered an asset. 
  • Have basic knowledge of CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens). 
  • Have knowledge of cutting tools and their applications for different materials. 
  • Demonstrate innovation and creativity. 
  • Are resourceful and show initiative. 
  • Exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, and are comfortable speaking to different audiences (operators, leaders, directors). 
  • Are comfortable working on the shop floor, engaging effectively with production teams. 
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy. 
  • Are able to work in both French (required) and English on a daily basis so as to collaborate effectively with colleagues in Quebec and around the world. 
  • Able to work on site at our Saint-Laurent manufacturing facility is required. The benefit of working remotely is possible in accordance with business needs and the flexible work policy that applies.
