What are your contributions to the team?
- Establish short-, medium- and long-term plans for high-complexity structural and system test rigs.
- Coordinate the definition of technical requirements, mechanical and electrical design, fabrication, installation, instrumentation, commissioning, and testing of aircraft components on experimental rigs.
- Prepare project schedules, identify milestones, and track progress.
- Engage all stakeholders to commit to and achieve the project plan on time and within budget.
- Define and plan upgrades to the aircraft systems used on experimental rigs as their configuration evolves.
- Perform risk analyses throughout the project to identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Be accountable for meeting objectives, performance goals, and project deadlines.
- Track, document, and update project budgets and manage changes or out-of-scope items.
- Prepare presentations for customers and management to keep them informed of project progress.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
How to thrive in this role?
- You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in project management in the aerospace, transportation, or a similar field.
- You have experience leading and driving engineering and fabrication activities for internal projects as well as for third-party engineering service suppliers.
- You have experience with aircraft systems.
- You have leadership qualities and the ability to think strategically.
- You have strong organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
- You are autonomous and a critical thinker, enabling you to make the right decisions.
- You are confident and experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- You assign tasks effectively and follow up on them with thoroughness and rigor.
- You are a team motivator, promote collaboration, and foster the recognition and respect of others.
- You are resilient, open to change, and manage stress positively.
- You have good cost and contract management skills.
- You have experience and knowledge of aircraft systems such as fly-by-wire, avionics, hydraulic and electrical systems (an asset).
- You have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English and French.
- You are familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
- You must be eligible for registration in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
- You are a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) (an asset).
