What are your contributions to the team?
- Contribute to the conceptual sizing on structural work packages and support design activities for major interfaces between Structural Suppliers.
- Monitor, support and provide guidance to the work package Structural Suppliers to ensure a quality product and supporting documentation are produced.
- Ensure the harmonization of sizing methodologies and guidelines between the Structures work packages.
- Prepare and review the required engineering documentation, i.e., manuals, requirements, reports, presentations, justification notes and memos, stress analysis files and models, among others.
- Review and approve structural substantiation reports from the Structural Suppliers.
- Support the coordination of Certification related activities that directly pertains to the work package.
- Provide clear visibility to management of the status and/or emerging issues related to the supported activities.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry.
- You have relevant experience in OEM stress integration role or equivalent function as well as in aerostructure design house or supplier.
- You have contributed actively to at least one aircraft development program, ideally during conceptual design and sizing phases.
- You have significant experience in Aircraft Structural substantiation analysis.
- You have an excellent knowledge, supported by experience, of the sizing principles of an aeronautical structure, including regulatory requirements, manufacturing constraints and aircraft level requirements.
- You have a good knowledge and some experience of structural Damage Tolerance Analysis, preferably on Bombardier approved tools and methodologies.
- You have some experience with sizing and certification of composite material parts and assemblies
- You are a confident, knowledgeable and energetic person with excellent communication and listening skills that is able to work in a team environment.
- You have a good understanding of aircraft manufacturing methods and processes.
- You have experience using FEA software, Siemens Simcenter 3D is an asset.
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communication to suit the audience. You strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork.
