What are your contributions to the team?

The PMO senior specialist will work with the entire PMO community of program analysts and will be responsible for the following:

Reporting to the PMO central Program Management Director, the PMO senior specialist will be responsible for to act as a mentor for the program community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, drive operational excellence, and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

 

  • Develop/Support mid and long-term vision for Program organization
  • Influence Program office strategy & objectives by acting as a key Subject Matter Expert during reviews with Program Specialists and SMEs from other functions
  • Identify skills gaps in Program Management organization
  • Key Subject Matter Expert to develop & maintain Program Serie 1020 Bombardier Manuals
  • Educates Program Analysts within the group and other stakeholders on Product Change and Customer Request including but not limited to project scope, strategy, business case, implementation schedule
  • Leads or advises peers in defining program requirements and guidelines
  • Leads or advises peers in defining & developing program IT tools
  • Provide guidance at Design Reviews and Change Boards related to Product Change Request approvals
  • Lead complex and or special projects. Conduct high level business case assessments
  • Recommend new cost-effective design changes (Design to Cost)
  • Act as a focal representing Program Management in the various multi-functional initiatives / forums (e.g. Commodity Strategy, Supplier PMRs, Cost-savings & Claims projects,…)
  • Represent Program Management at Advisory Boards, Customer meetings and Industry meetings
  • Identify opportunities with Industrialization for program cost savings
  • Lead and coordinate complex problems solving activities leveraging Transformation and BOE
  • Collects and dispositions Lessons Learned
  • Support Product Derivative MR&O development (review and acceptance)
  • Recommends and provides insightful input and Strategies for the direction of the Product

How to thrive in this role?

 

  • Hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finances or other related fields
  • Have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience. Bombardier or aerospace experience required; previous experience in engineering and program management roles required
  • Demonstrated track record leading large, complex PCRs to completion or similar projects
  • Demonstrated experience PCR process oversight including planning, balancing timeline, budget and resources as well as in product change technical scope.
  • Mastered the balancing of various inputs (customer, costs, schedule, resources) in proposing insightful decisions
  • Able to take into consideration technical risk assessments and provide advice with decision-making and advise others on ways to minimize risk to the Program based on previous experience
  • Deep understanding of financial process from budgeting to monthly financial reconciliation including risks and opportunities
  • Deep understanding of warranty & Service Bulletin financial processes
  • Deep understanding of implementation of changes in development, production, understand production line flow and First Article process
  • Deep understanding of implementation of changes in service;  sizing of rotable pool sizes proof process
  • Excellent understanding of customer services including but not limited to part reliability, AOG, MRB, etc.
  • Has successfully led large multi-disciplinary teams to reach stretch objectives.; decisions have an impact on the program.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the organization, issues and overall context.
  • Great communications skills; will be asked to speak publicly to external stakeholders or within Bombardier
  • Provides sense of direction by explaining, communicating and conveying a vision into concrete plans and activities.
  • Support problem solving across programs
  • Act as a mentor/coach for Programs Analysts & Specialists as part of “Professional Development Plans – PDP” and mentor Program Management high potential candidates
  • Is able to work effectively in English and French; knowledge of Spanish is an asset but not required
  • Able to travel occasionally for work, to Bombardier work sites or supplier locations
  • Able to work on site in Montreal as per the Bombardier guidelines
