What are your contributions to the team?

  • Supervise the unionized team of mechanics and quality agents within the Experimental organization to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of fabrication, assembly, modification, and installation activities on test rigs and flight test aircraft.
  • Plan and coordinate Experimental Shop personnel, while ensuring the availability of the tooling and technical documentation required to execute work and meet program schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, quality requirements, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements within the aerospace industry.
  • Coordinate health and safety activities across the Experimental organization to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, engage, and develop a team of specialized technicians by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and ensure the implementation of sustainable corrective actions to optimize operational performance, reliability, and the quality of test facilities.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of processes, work methods, and tools within the Experimental organization.

How to thrive in this role?

  • Technical college diploma or university degree in aerospace or a related field, combined with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, experimental, aerospace, or testing environment, including at least three (3) years in a personnel leadership or supervisory role. Experience managing unionized employees is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace system fabrication, assembly, installation, and modification processes, as well as Health and Safety management, Quality, and regulations applicable to the aerospace industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to engage teams, solve complex problems, make sound decisions, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, positively influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively in both French and English, verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Eligibility to participate in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
