What are your contributions to the team?
- Resolve fit, form, or functional issues on aircraft components and repairs required during the manufacture of Bombardier Aerospace products.
- Find solutions to any problems with the aircraft structure and/or systems that are reported and raise the necessary documentation to overcome the problems quickly and efficiently.
- Provide repair and/or salvage dispositions with respect to Engineering specifications, concepts, and design integrity, as well as sign off on dispositions on behalf of the Engineering Department.
- Work closely with all specialists within Engineering, such as Design, Stress, Materials Technology, Aerodynamics, Performance, and others as required to solve problems.
- Support and lead Production, Design Engineering, Procurement, and Quality in coordinating resolutions to issues and providing corrective actions involving Engineering.
- Interpret engineering drawings, Functional Test Procedures, and specifications.
- Provide status updates and keep current information regarding manufacturing changes and problems.
- Ensure adherence to MRB (Material Review Board), quality, and engineering procedures.
- Work in a high-paced environment with evolving priorities.
How to thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university or a Technical degree in Aerospace.
- You have a minimum of eight (12) years of experience as an Engineer or at least ten (17) years as a Technologist.
- A strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical and electro-mechanical systems is required.
- You have previous MRB (Material Review Board) experience.
- You have working experience using CATIA V4 & V5 and MS Office.
- You must be bilingual (English and French), both written and spoken.
- You must be able to work with minimum supervision, enjoy teamwork, and have project organization skills.
- You must demonstrate initiative, a strong sense of responsibility, and good technical judgment.
- Knowledge of Supplemental Type Certification (STC) principles is a definite asset.
