What are your contributions to the team?

 

  • Define the structural integrity requirements for various system components such as landing gears, flight controls, high lift systems, hydraulic equipment, emergency power systems, among others. 
  • Develop the required stress methodology for structural integrity of those systems. 
  • Derive and document loads applied to systems components in collaboration with other engineering functions. 
  • Perform the conceptual sizing on systems work packages and support design activities in relation to their installation in the aircraft. 
  • Monitor, support and provide guidance to Systems and Structural Suppliers to ensure a quality product and supporting documentation are produced for their respective work packages. 
  • Ensure the harmonization of sizing methodologies and guidelines between the Systems and Structures work packages. 
  • Prepare and review the required engineering documentation, i.e., manuals, requirements, reports, presentations, justification notes and memos, stress analysis files and models, among others. 
  • Interface with suppliers to ensure program and technical requirements and methodologies are being complied with. 
  • Review and approve structural substantiation reports from the Systems Suppliers, including static stress and durability/fatigue analyses. 
  • Lead in the coordination of Certification related activities that directly pertains to the work package. 
  • Provide clear visibility to management of the status and/or emerging issues related to the supported activities. 

How to thrive in this role?

 

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering and a minimum of twelve years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry. 
  • You have relevant experience in OEM stress integration role or equivalent function as well as in aerostructure design house or supplier. 
  • You have contributed actively to at least two aircraft development programs, ideally during conceptual design and sizing phases. 
  • You have significant experience in Aircraft Structural substantiation analysis. 
  • You have expertise in the structural integrity qualification requirements of systems, particularly landing gears, flight control systems, high lift systems, hydraulic equipment, ducting, among others. 
  • You have good knowledge of the sizing principles of aeronautical structures, including regulatory requirements, manufacturing constraints and aircraft level requirements. 
  • You have experience using FEA software, Siemens Simcenter 3D is an asset. 
  • You are a confident, knowledgeable and energetic person with excellent communication and listening skills that is able to work in a team environment. 
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • You have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communication to suit the audience. You strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork. 
  • You proficiently lead people to resolve complex issues
