About the role:

The purpose of the role of a Component Engineer GDU/Power Semiconductor is to establish a strong technical ownership for the technical area of Power Semiconductor Switch functions used in traction. As a Power Semiconductor/GDU Component Engineer you will be the natural contact towards projects, suppliers, supply management, quality and divisions inside Bombardier regarding technical work within the assigned area of knowledge. In your role you will work globally and interact with experts from other Bombardier sites. The work will mainly be carried out in the office, but you will also need to perform tests in a high-voltage laboratory.

Your Tasks

- · Technical support in the area of current and future generations of Power Semiconductors
- · Technical ownership for the area of switch functionality and performance
- · Evaluation of components
- · Lead issue activities internally and in cooperation with supplier
- · Constant focus on standardization, reliability increase, and cost
- · Technical interface for semiconductor and gate driver supplier in the area of switch performance.


- MSc or PhD in the area of Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge gained for professional experience
- Min. 5 years relevant experiences
- Knowledge or experience in power semiconductors and experimental R&D work.
- Experience of working in high voltage lab is preferable.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills required. Able to communicate internally and externally on a technical level.
- Team player
- Fluent in English (Writing & Reading & Speaking)
- Swedish at an intermediate level is preferable.
