About the role:
The Software Safety Engineer provides, manages and ensures Software Safety within projects and across the organization.
He/She successfully cooperates with internal and external stakeholders and assessment bodies.
The Software Safety Engineer contributes pro-actively to the continuous improvement of Software Safety within the organization and ensures lessons learned and best practices are applied and spread within the organization.
Key responsibilities
Safety Engineer:
Setting up the Safety Plan and ensure implementation (and regular update) of the TCMS Safety Plan (which includes System Safety Plan, Hazard Log, Hazard Analysis and System Safety Case) throughout the life cycle
Ensure that the relevant documentation is updated with respect to the safety relevance for changes in the configuration or mode of operation of the system and that maintainer and operator have the suitable and sufficient information on safety relevant application conditions
Ensure that the safety team communicates and interfaces appropriately in the interest of identifying and mitigating potential safety risks. This includes defining and contributing to processes tools and techniques to reduce systematic and random failures.
Ensure that potential safety risk, associated with the operation of the system and any proposed changes to the system and its deployment, is reduced to acceptable level and that sufficient records and traceability is maintained in safety related decision making.
Ensure that safety audits and assessments are planned and carried out.
Verifier:
Examine and judge whether the output of a specific development phase fulfils respective requirements, mostly document reviews. The verifier ensures proper documentation during all project phases.
Qualifications
Education
Any BE / BTech / ME / MTech - IS / IT / CE / CS / EC
Relevant experience
Min 8 years of relevant experience in Railway / Aerospace industry
Mandatory requirement: Experience in Safety plans, Safety analysis, Hazard log, etc
Knowledge of software safety standards in transportation domain ( EN50128/ EN50129, EN50657)
