Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, you will be responsible to provide field engineering support for installation, test, operation, and/or maintenance of the equipment. You will perform hardware and software troubleshooting, upgrade and modification on the equipment during the commissioning and warranty phase of the project. You will also follow all safety requirement and perform warranty repair including troubleshooting using Portable Test Equipment (PTE) computer and specific tools and equipment. You will provide technical expertise and shadowing to subcontractors, project team members and less experienced personnel.

In your role you will:

- Respect Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) rules and procedure and ensure that work is perform in compliance with CSA, BTAME, and customer’s regulations, and report immediately any deviation;
- Perform risk analysis on systems and operational procedures;
- Participate in site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) improvement and developing and improving Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) procedure;
- Review comment Engineering modification documents;
- Perform mechanical and electrical modification on equipment;
- Follow supplier and/or Engineering FMI (Failure Modification Instruction);
- Support material coordinator in keeping accurate inventory and inform of received and any missing material;
- Review work forecast and foresee material and tools needs;
- Update system software and perform routine tests;
- Swap and install new mechanical and electronics parts;
- See upcoming issue related to warranty and MOD program and communicate them to ensure efficient work time on the trains;
- Communicate with Engineers to report issue and transfer logs for investigations;
- Keep accurate documentation of work performed through Maximo software;
- Be aware of ongoing issues with the trains and update reports and follow up sheets, and follow up with vendor to provide details on defective parts;
- Investigate the causes of electromechanical equipment and subsystem failures, and work with appropriate system experts;
- Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems to identify malfunctions, and address problems and failures within the electro-mechanical and electronic system;
- Repair, rework, and calibrate electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances;
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic equipment;
- Conduct necessary static and dynamic testing using electronic diagnostic equipment, uploads and upgrades operational software;
- Communicate with customer’s representatives, vendors and internal contacts to ensure proper transfer of information;
- Provide management with accurate and timely reporting;
- Prepare parts for shipment and document defective goods.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a diploma in Electromechanical, Red Seal electrical or Mechanical certification;
- You have one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a related field;
- You possess knowledge of Office suite, Maximo and AVM (considered as an asset);
- You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
