What are your contributions to the team?
- Adhere to general work requirements
- Inspect incoming paperwork to ensure accuracy of part number and serial number and determine work to be performed
- Conduct research and obtain applicable maintenance manuals, technical manuals, engineering documents, and/or test equipment
- Conduct preliminary inspection for damage and cleanliness and verify modification status and conformity
- Maintain Avionics library
- Coordinate with Vendors and perform on-line computer searches for obtaining current revisions to maintenance and technical manuals.
- Assist in performing functional testing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, rebuilding overhauling and parts requisitioning of aircraft avionics electronic, radio and instrument components
- Perform return-to-service testing of aircraft avionics components, complete necessary paperwork as required, and inspect paperwork for completeness
- Fabricate, perform routine maintenance and certification of test equipment and/or ground support equipment (GSE) as required
- May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA
- Assist other lab technicians in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification
- Ability to operate and interpret aircraft avionics test/diagnostic equipment
- Ability to solder
- Ability to use small hand tools, for example, tweezers and eyeloops
- Ability to operate Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and interpret results
- Comply with environmental, health and safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform work in a safe and timely manner
- Good communication skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Access, Word) and internet searches
- Troubleshoot, repair, modify, rebuild, and perform final testing of aircraft avionics digital/analog instrument components, ordering parts and completing necessary paperwork as required
- Troubleshoot, repair, modify, rebuild, and perform final testing of aircraft electronic computer components, ordering parts and completing necessary paperwork as required
- Inspect to ensure technician used applicable parts of Chapter 14 CFR (FARs), manuals, drawings, and test equipment and buy-off aircraft avionics components
- Coordinate with Engineering in problem solving and/or conducting functional tests of aircraft avionics components and equipment
- Design and fabricate test equipment and develop test procedures for aircraft avionics components
- Assist with software development for ATE
- Working knowledge of applicable parts of Chapter 14 CFR (FARs), Quality System Manuals, and IPM
- Working knowledge of electronics or instrumentation theory
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft avionics units
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering documents, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Ability to design and fabricate test equipment and develop test procedures for aircraft avionics components
- Basic knowledge of computer programming
- Basic knowledge of aircraft systems operation
How to thrive in this role?
- You typically have 5 years’ bench level experience working aircraft electronics and digital/analog instrumentation
- You typically have 3 years’ bench level experience working aircraft electrical components i.e. Relay Boxes, Warning Light boxes, Batteries, Voltage Regulators
