What are your contributions to the team?

  • Propose the implementation of technical innovations based on knowledge of industry trends
  • Recommend new cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Lead and coordinate the A/C level requirement and design solution development for complex problems leveraging transformation and BES
  • Lead and Coordinate technically the V&V efforts at A/C and Systems level
  • Responsible for A/C level architecture and functional modeling
  • Participate in Commodity Strategy reviews with Sourcing & Identify opportunities with Sourcing for program cost savings
  • Derivative MR&O development support (review and acceptance) - Derivative DR&O/ARD preparation and Peer work
  • Support Development and Preparation of Cert Plan as Applicant
  • Maintain competitive landscape of technologies and performance of non-Bombardier models
  • Support business cases and statements of work for technical studies & lead aircraft studies having multi-disciplinary inputs
  • Lead Strategic Initiatives team thinking regarding certification, safety and produceability of projects
  • Collects and dispositions Lessons Learned with KD for community cross programs
  • Influence KD strategy, objectives, key SME participant for review with Fellows and identify skills gaps in KD 
  • Provide recommendations for promotions from ES to SES
  • Educates other specialists within the group and wider on technical decision making and influence
  • Mentors Engineers from his/her technical discipline(s)
  • Research technical developments in the industry to remain aware of innovations that may affect and improve current system performance
  • Influence industry standards in area of specialization - Attend and lead/influence conference – Paper
  • Influence industry design standards - Active panel member/chair at SAE* (or equivalent in Defense Industry)
  • Participate in rulemaking in area(s) of specialization
  • Develop network of contact throughout Industry

How to thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Avionics, Aerospace, Mechanical).
  • Over 21 year of relevant experience in a specific aerospace engineering field
  • Has experience on at least 2 or more development programs
  • Expert in one or more of the following areas
    • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
    • Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA)
    • Mission Systems Integration
  • Strong knowledge of complex systems development process methodologies and associated practices. 
  • Examples include but not limited ARP4754, ARP4761, DO178/254/160
  • Highly recommended, has an international reputation
  • Certification Experience in
    • 14 CFR Part 25
    • MIL-HDBK-516
  • Advanced knowledge in a specific field and a breadth of knowledge of many aircraft sub-systems
