What are your contributions to the team?

  • You may be responsible for specializing in Aircraft Performance
  • You may be responsible for performing analysis of ground and flight test data including desktop simulation
  • You may be responsible for providing timely analysis of predicted results, post flight data analysis, support snag resolution, generate problem reports, and perform data reviews
  • You may be responsible for using engineering judgment on selecting the appropriate methods, techniques and tools in resolving complex issues
  • You may be responsible for developing new or unique flight test techniques, equipment, or processes
  • You may be responsible for providing technical support to Flight Operations by attending pre and post flight briefs, telemetry, Safety of Flight reviews and Test Hazard Assessments
  • You may be responsible for writing/reviewing Request for Test, Test Definition Sheets, Restriction and Special Instructions, and Conformity reports to support the flight test schedule.
  • You may be responsible for creating flight test reports demonstrating compliance as required by TC/FAA/EASA certification regulations
  • You may be responsible for creating development engineering documentation for design changes, in a flight test environment
  • You may be responsible for providing technical support to BFTC Projects Test Readiness Reviews

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering field
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in engineering within the aviation industry
  • You have at least 5 years of direct flight testing experience in aircraft Stability & Control and Aircraft Performance (preferred)
  • You have extensive knowledge of aircraft systems or principles (preferred)
  • You have extensive knowledge of aircraft takeoff, landing, and mission performance (preferred)
  • You have an awareness of FAA & EASA Part 25 certification requirements (preferred)
  • You possess good programming skills in Python, VBA, MATLAB, C#, C++, or FORTRAN. Working knowledge of a Windows and UNIX operating system environment would be an asset (preferred)
  • You are proficient in MS Office and Windows environment (preferred)
  • You possess good interpersonal skills to work well in a team environment (preferred)
  • You can work independently and demonstrate initiatives to achieve the goals established (preferred) 
  • You possess good written and oral communication skills (preferred)
  • You are resourceful in identifying roadblocks and looking for creative ways to overcome challenges, and can maintain adherence to project deadlines (preferred)
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident to qualify for ITAR clearance (preferred)
