Bombardier Business Aircraft’s Wichita Service Center is located at the original Learjet manufacturing site in the Air Capital of the World. The facility is equipped to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as interior modifications, avionics installations, paint and provide Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support for Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft. The facility added 38,000 sq ft of hangar space in 2015, bringing its total square footage to 113,000 and enabling the facility to service more aircraft, including Global aircraft. And in 2018, the Wichita Service Center became home to one of two of Bombardier’s Mobile Response Team Maintenance Control Centers, working in conjunction with Bombardier’s Customer Response Center, which operates 24/7 to streamline customer requests and optimize maintenance support. The Service Center has received certifications from FAA, EASA, Aruba, Canada, Bermuda, Cayman Islands and Mexico.
In your role, you will:

Prepare aircraft for primer, paint, and striping by performing stripping, buffing and sanding, and related preparation tasks. Apply primer, paint, stripes, vinyl appliques, and decals. Inspect, perform touch-up, and polish painted surfaces for a finished appearance.

• Apply base coat of paint, stripes, decals, custom designs and vinyl appliqués to aircraft surface
• Perform lay outs with Lazer Eye and projection images
• Ability to lay out stripes and custom artwork furnished by or verbally directed by customer
• Move aircraft to appropriate bay using ground support equipment as required
• Apply primers to aircraft surface using spray equipment and spot prime any imperfections in preparation for paint
• Check for imperfections after painting and striping using discrepancy sheet and documented squawks and perform touch-up work as required
• Read engineering drawings to identify the tasks to be performed in preparation for the application of chemicals and paint to aircraft surface
• Apply safety absorbent to hangar floor and spray aircraft surface with stripper to remove all paint
• Assist with moving aircraft to appropriate bay
• Mask, unmask, and remask appropriate areas of aircraft surface to ensure complete protection of windows and other areas susceptible to damage
• Remove stripper, excess paint, and/or contaminants using water, solvents, airblower, and/or brushes
• Sand, grind, and buff polished areas of aircraft surface, apply putty to body dents, and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paint
• Apply alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipment
• Assist with the application of primers to aircraft surface
• Assist with painting parts, components, and/or aircraft surface
• Assist with checking for imperfections after painting and striping application using discrepancy sheet and documented squawks and perform touch-up work as required
• Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
• Perform above tasks in support of production, flight test, and other outside areas as required
• May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA
• Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification


As our ideal candidate,

• You have at least 8 years experience, which must include preparation and painting aircraft or equivalent
• You have the ability to read and interpret engineering documents, customer instructions, Design renderings and maintenance manuals
