System Administrator

In your role, you will

• Perform system administration, preventive maintenance activities, disaster recovery plans for the Bombardier Flight Test Center multi-server, multi-site environment 

• Monitoring and troubleshooting operating systems, servers, storage, backup systems, and network switches 

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Flight Test Center network routers and switches 

• Develop software applications to support system administration tasks 

As our ideal candidate

• Per US ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) Requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder). 
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IS/IT (Information Systems), Engineering, or a closely related field with 2 years of equivalent IT work experience OR 6 years professional IT experience in Linux or UNIX system administration.
• Thorough knowledge of current IT technologies and best practices. 
• Through knowledge of system administration activities.
• Through knowledge of High-availability systems, OS clusters, virtual machines.
• Working knowledge of applicable programming language. 
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, other business areas, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Additional desired qualifications: 

• Previous Linux system administration experience. 
• Previous Windows Server administration experience. 
• Previous network administration experience. 
• Previous enterprise storage system administration experience.
