What are your contributions to the team?

  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft
  • Fabricate and or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts
  • Perform and oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) on aircraft structures and components 
  • Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached
  • Assist in conducting hidden damage inspections using NDT techniques
  • Review and validate work performed by NDT technicians (Lead responsibility) 
  • Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of NDT equipment
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members
  • Remove and install aircraft components as required to facilitate inspections
  • Operate ground support equipment as required
  • Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures, including those specific to NDT methods (e.g., radiation safety if applicable)
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities
  • Perform work in a safe, accurate, and timely manner
  • Assist with maintenance or inspection activities at off-site locations as needed
  • Coordinate with other maintenance disciplines to support inspection requirements
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements for factory, shop, and/or hangar positions

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have received training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or have equivalent schooling

  • You must hold an official certification issued under FAR Part 65

  • You typically have at least 3 years working with Corporate aircraft structural sheet metal repair / modification 

  • You typically have at least 5 years of experience in structural sheet metal, repair/modification, or a closely related field

  • You have the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings

  • You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status

  • You own a basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory and control of tools

  • You have the ability to obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as required

  • You are able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays

  • You are able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside

  • You have the ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable

  • You have an A Certification, A&P Certificate or Repairman Certificate (preferred) You have basic PC skills
